Community Comes Together to Shave for a Cause

ACK’s 17th annual Shave to Raise event raises more than $9k for the Montreal Children’s Hospital

This year’s event looked a little different, with additional swim- and run-a-thon fundraisers taking place alongside our usual Shave to Raise schedule - a recipe for more laughter and memories, and even more opportunities for our fantastic volunteers to raise donations for the Children’s.

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from the Montreal West Community, including both the Montreal West Day Camp (MWDC) and the Montreal West Aquatic Club (MWAC). This event wouldn’t have been possible without them!

MWAC hosted a swim-a-thon for the swim team earlier in the week, where participants completed an impressive 1,412 laps to raise funds for ACK. Additionally, we introduced a new event this year—the run-a-thon—which took place on the day of Shave to Raise, with runners making their way around Royal West Academy.

The event ended on a fun note with the head shaving of two amazing volunteers!
